for example, when jessie and i are on our way to work and the Yaguachi bus doesnt stop, then we see the Proyecto Express bus pass us by, and now know our bus wont come for another 20 minutes, we plot how it could be worse. it could be raining. or muddy. or we could have missed TWO Yaguachis. we could have missed the first bus we already took that morning. or we could have had a test first period that we would now be late for. it could have been worse.
and this game is great because all the what-ifs have usually already happened... therefore you can just laugh about how funny ecuador can be sometimes.
another situation -- when jenn and i made up this game, we were hungry, had just walked 5 blocks since the bus turned early, couldnt find jessie and none of us had phones, and had just realized that the chicos people were going all the way back to where we came from. so it could have been worse -- we could have missed the chicos people altogether. we could have ran out of money. we could have overslept and missed cathecism all together. we could have taken a wrong bus by mistake. we could have not known where the stadium was. it could have been worse.
one more for the road ... get to work on monday and someone was installing a database on the comp, so i couldnt use it for 2 hours, and therefore fell even more behind. but it could have been worse. i could have lost all the documents because the pen drive crashed or the computer crashed. they could have been in class all day. i could have not had anything at all to do off the computer. i could have been recruited to do something else more difficult or tedious. it could have been worse.
and legit, all these situations just happened in the past 3 days! so next time something happens to you that´s out of your control, try my new game. because i bet you ... it could have been worse!
love you all so much,
isa
